Recognizing that the M1911 was designed originally for the U.S. Cavalry, the M1911 is our first semi-automatic offering and a logical evolutionary step for Cimarron. This slab-sided pistol marked a major transition from revolver to semi-automatic handguns. Used in the last horse cavalry action in North America during General John Pershing's Punitive Expedition against Mexican guerilla leader Pancho Villa in 1916, it went on to serve with the American Expeditionary Force in World War I. This semi-auto was the standard government-issue sidearm for the U.S. military in 1912 (the pistol's first year of production) and served with distinction to 1985!
Cimarron's M1911 has the original 1911 frame, complete with historically correct stampings, and the Type 1 smooth mainspring housing. It comes with a lifetime warranty and is Colt parts compliant. The M1911's use in the 1969 movie, The Wild Bunch, has made it a "semi-auto star," resulting in growing popularity in the world of Cowboy Action Shooting, as well as a powerful and reliable personal protection arm. The M1911 still rates as one of the best handguns of modern times! The Wild Bunch combo includes the 1911 High Polished Blue finish, a period-correct lanyard magazine and a replica of the U.S. Tanker holster. This ain't no bag of "silver rings," it's the real deal!
